Zhang Jiankang, the founder of Hubei Baoli Technology, has played a significant role in advancing China's food packaging machinery industry. His career in the sector began in 2003 when he joined industry leader ORG, starting on the production frontline. Through strong technical capabilities and comprehensive understanding of equipment systems, he was promoted to Head of the Equipment Department within two years, establishing a solid foundation in can-making and packaging automation.
In 2009, Zhang Jiankang left to pursue entrepreneurship, first establishing Wuhan Boshi Automation Equipment Co., Ltd., followed by Hubei Baoli Technology. His focus remained consistent: the research, development, and manufacturing of fully automatic conveying, packaging, and palletizing equipment.
Under his leadership, the team has successfully addressed numerous complex technical challenges. Notable achievements include:
-
-
2016
Developed China's first automatic paper bag debagging machine, obtained patent certification, and achieved fully unmanned operation, significantly reducing labor costs and attracting international customer visits
-
-
2018
Established a new production base in Xianning to expand manufacturing capacity
-
-
Patent Portfolio
Secured 50 authorized patents to date, covering core equipment including rail-guided transfer carts and robotic palletizers, establishing a strong position in automation technology
Under Zhang Jiankang's guidance, Baoli has expanded based on quality and reputation rather than traditional sales approaches. The company operates without a dedicated sales team, with most projects originating from word-of-mouth recommendations, repeat orders, and customer referrals.
Despite this organic growth model, Baoli's products now serve nearly 80 cities across China and Taiwan, with exports to Vietnam, Mexico, Switzerland, and other countries. The company's client portfolio includes prominent brands such as Wahaha, Wong Lo Kat, and Yili. In the first half of 2024, sales exceeded USD 1.99 million, with full-year revenue projected to surpass USD 4.2 million. In 2020, the company received recognition as a High-Tech Enterprise in Xianning.
Zhang Jiankang maintains a comprehensive perspective on the industry's development. He recognizes the existing gap between domestic food packaging machinery and foreign equipment in terms of high precision and advanced technology, as well as the sector's common reliance on imitation and limited R&D investment.
His response centers on independent innovation. He led the team in building the milk powder empty can production line for Yili's world-first unmanned factory, incorporating internationally advanced design concepts and processes. Concurrently, he is directing expansion into additional sectors including personal care, pharmaceuticals, and new energy, while increasing investment in R&D and technical upgrading.
This combination of strategic vision and practical execution defines Baoli's organizational culture: a company committed not only to delivering equipment, but also to advancing intelligent manufacturing capabilities in China.
