For a customer in South Africa, the project focused on upgrading conveying and palletizing around an existing beverage can line. Equipment supplied included can uprighters, cooling conveyors, a magnetic end feeder and a low-level magnetic palletizer.
The palletizer uses an automatic can arranging table rather than traditional manual gap filling. Conventional palletizing often leaves empty pockets that workers must correct by hand. The arranging table minimizes gaps before palletizing, which increases efficiency and reduces physical workload.
The palletizing head uses magnetic plates to pick and place layers, keeping the load stable. Finished pallets are discharged automatically by chain conveyors and then pass through a strapping machine and a gantry-type stretch wrapping machine.
- Can size: diameter 153 mm, height 178 or 256 mm
- Line speed: 80 cans per minute
- Pallet size: 1 400 × 1 120 × 120 mm, block pallet pattern
- Palletizing height: up to 2 450 mm including the pallet, with up to nine layers of cans
